I knew one of the highest priorities for this Mandurah in-home newborn session was a sibling shot...because Mum’s last newborn photographer gave up and told her that “twins were too hard”...:O Look, I knew it wasn’t going to be easy. The boys’ energy was through the roof from the moment I stepped inside their home. I liken it “whack a mole” - as soon as one would sit down, another one would pop up! (Don’t worry, I didn’t whack any of ‘em) ;P

So what’s a photographer to do? Get on their level and CONNECT. They started talking about Super Mario, and it just so happens I’ve been a fan for life. So I had a little pep talk with them, and said how we need to team up so we get some beautiful photos for Mum! Working together, our team of Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and Peach - yours truly ;) - got it done. I’ll say it once and I’ll say it again: Please don’t let your kids be the reason you skip getting professional photos done...they should be the reason you ARE getting photos done! I promise, I can handle them <3

Can I just remind everyone, even if it’s not with me, please book a newborn photoshoot. I don’t see how anyone could possibly regret it. I didn’t get newborn photos done for my first son (thinking that I could do them myself..HA!) I wish I could go back in time. That is something I will always look back on and think, if only I knew better. Then with my second son, we learned our lesson and booked a session but it was at the photographer’s studio. The photos were nice enough (except the family and sibling shots - see below explanation), but it meant we had to pack everyone up and get there on time (SO stressful), my baby HATED car rides (oh, the shrieking!!!), my toddler was acting very awkward as he was uncomfortable in new surroundings (cue awkward looking family and sibling photos), and it would have been so much easier to just have someone come to us and take photos of us in our own home, where our memories lay, where our lives happen. I LOVE being able to offer in-home newborn sessions because we get a mix of your home setting plus studio setups, so it’s really the best of both worlds. Every session feels different and unique, because it is! <3
